Biography:

Alexander the Great is a tactician, a warrior, and a ruler of men. He commands the most advanced army on the planet and over the last 100 years he has invaded, overrun, and subjugated nations across the world. He is a warlord with the strength and determination to bring the entire globe under his repulsor boot.         Alexander’s home base is the nation he created in his own image: Macedon. Comprised of the vast majority of the Balkans, including the former nation of Greece, its seat of power is Alexandropolis the techo-capital city. Its army outstrips any other in funding and technology. The bulwarks of this army are the pyramid-like Outposts from which hover-tanks, cyborg Myrmidon, and other troops are deployed. When a site is targeted, these rocket fortresses descend behind enemy lines, insert Macedonian forces, and become entrenched garrisons. As a laser-sword wielding personal combatant, Alexander is the equal of a small army on his own. His battle armor is a technological marvel, costing billions in 1950’s-dollars and 5% of Macedon’s annual GDP goes to keeping it cutting-edge. It allows him to remotely monitor and control his forces, and can even go so far as commandeering units of Myrmidon and artillery to be operated by him from anywhere on the battlefield. It augments his strength and his speed as well as generating an invisible personal forcefield that protects him from even the most powerful assault.

Alexander has planted his standard on almost every continent and staged the most ambitious incursions in history. He invaded Moscow at the height of the USSR and made off with a nuclear arsenal. He ruled India for years and Egypt for decades. He even launched a full-scale assault on Washington DC.

As a result, some of the planet’s foremost heroes have come together again and again to keep Alexander’s ambitions in check, and drive him back from these overrun territories. Due to its superhuman population, Union City has been a prime target for Alexander’s aggressions many times. Now his forces are massed and ready to undertake this campaign once more: the Conquest of Union City!

Alexander the Great is an enigmatic and mysterious figure on the world stage. He’s claimed to be the original Alexander the Great traveling through time, to be a clone of the original, and even to having been a humble Macedonian peasant who took the name in order to make something of himself.

Brilliant minds like Dr. Tomorrow have tried to discover the truth of Alexander’s origins, and have not been able to unravel the mystery. All the while, Alexander has endured, seeming not to have aged in his century of conquests. During that time he has jealously defended his secrets as aggressively as he has his burgeoning empire.

Alexander first appeared during the Great War, fighting against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottomans, and all other comers to forge modern Macedon. Alexander himself was a famous figure, leading his rebels with heroism and dashing abandon. As other nations struggled, Macedon became a robust, self-sustaining nation under Alexander’s unquestioned rule.

By the time World War II erupted Macedon was able to stand against Fascist invasion attempts. Alexander led a defense campaign for years until the Allies breached France, the opening he needed to launch a burning march to Berlin, beating the Russians, British, and Americans to the prize. Nazi Super-Scientists were taken into his custody as well as the remaining assets and treasures of the Third Reich. This vaulted Macedon into a new strata of technological achievement, and Alexander focused this advancement on his army, his airforce, and his own personal arsenal.

Alexander is an inscrutable figure with plans that go beyond mere conquest. He has fought alongside the heroes to defend against larger threats like the Nazis and Abysce. In the aftermath of one of these team-ups he tricked the heroic community into thinking he’d reformed only to infiltrate, learn their secrets, and betray them.

Myrmidon:

One major breakthrough of Alexander’s elite scientists is the cybersurgery that created the Macedonian footsoldier: the Myrmidon. Each of these warriors has robotically-enhanced strength and resilience and is armed with a laser-lance. The Myrmidon are networked together to create the ultimate unit cohesion, and their maneuvers are always perfectly coordinated and synchronized. The Myrmidon are the backbone of the Alexandrian invasion forces.

The Myrmidons are divided into twenty legions which specialize in certain roles via unique versions of cyber surgery, advanced training, and sophisticated tactics. These include the fanatical Niceans, the cunning Gordians, and the amphibious Ptolemics.

Outposts:

An outpost is a rocket fortress: a walled and armored pyramid complex propelled by quad A-255 rockets, capable of moving the entire mobile base over oceans and continents to land behind enemy lines. Once landed, it disgorges rank upon rank of Macedonian forces from within the barracks pyramid.
