Biography:

       The Swarm is one of the deadliest and most implacable species in the universe. They have many names: Space Locusts, the Devourers, and the Teeming Eclipse. The Order of Knights Galactic's scholars refer to them in their texts as the Varitz Swarm and this is the name most commonly used. They cross the long darkness of space in city-sized hives. When they approach a solar system the gigantic queens begin to produce countless harvester drones. These insectoid warriors have exoskeletons strong enough to plunge through planetary atmospheres to kill the native fauna, devour the native flora, and bring the carcasses back to the hive to feed their queen. Once the planet is picked clean they take off towards another distant star leaving only a rocky molten husk in their wake. They have plagued many distant worlds, including the home planet of the Colony. Captain Jupiter and the Galactic Knight have also faced down Hives. If the Swarm ever find their way to earth it will take a truly heroic effort to save our fertile, fragile planet from their all-consuming mandibles.
